The coaching staffs for Team PA and Team New York have been finalized ahead of this weekend's Big 30 Senior Classic at Portville (NY) High School.
Port Allegany's Kyle Babcok will square off against Josh Forster of Catt-Little Valley in the boys game while Jamie Evens of Port Allegany goes head-to-head with Salamanca's Joe Hinman.
Kyle Babcock
Babcock has spent the last seven years as head coach of the Gators, compiling an 80-72 career record. This season the Gators went 20-8 (14-2 NTL) and were crowned NTL Champions, the school's first league title since 2001. Port Allegany also picked up their first playoff win since 1996, and defeated Bishop McCort for their first-ever state playoff win in school history.
Josh Forster
Forster led the Timberwolves to a school-record 15 wins (15-6 overall), their first home playoff game since 2021, and the school's highest playoff seed, including a first round bye. In his 11 seasons Coach Forster has compiled a 54-168 record, and has been named league Coach of the Year twice, in 2021 and 2026.
Jamie Evens
In eight years at the helm of the Lady Gators, Coach Evens has compiled a 130-60 record and helped guide his team to a 16-9 record and 2nd place finish in the NTL (13-3). During his career, Evens has won two NTL titles, has qualified for post-season play eight times, and most recently finished as the District IX Class 2A runner-up.
Joe Hinman
Hinman took over the Salamanca girls' program in 2022, and has compiled a 60-32 record in his four seasons. Hinman has led the Lady Warriors to three straight Section VI semi-finals with 17+ wins in each of those seasons. Last season the Lady Warriors won the Class B title, the program's first since 2012 en route to Hinman being named the Big 30 Girls Coach of the Year. This season the Lady Warriors finished 17-6 (11-1 league), Section VI Class B semi-finalists, and CCAA 1 League Co-Champions.
The 2026 Senior Classic tips off at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
